I bought 3 motion sensing night lights for my apartment and here's my review of all of them for comparison. The GE night light has a yellowish candescent bulb so it's bright, but mellow. The Maxxima is very bright in comparison because of the LED's white light. The GE bulb, however, is slightly brighter than the milky white Target brand "AmerTac" LED motion sensor night light though. The GE sensor can pick up from ~6-8 ft (a little shorter than the Maxxima and a little farther than the Target one) which is still pretty good, but the motion sensing angle isn't that good only about 120-145 degrees. I already had a couple from several years back, but couldn't find additional ones in the stores. So glad I found them on Amazon! What makes these lights great is that 1)they put out a good amount of light 2)the sensor field is about 180 degrees, so they pick up movement before you are standing directly in front of the light. It has a wide range of motion sense and stays on for just the right amount of time to get you where you're going. Granted, you need to find just the right spot for it, but in the hallway at the top of our stairs and right outside our bedroom it is absolutely perfect for us. |
