We purchased a total of 56 Maxxima nightlights for ourselves and family. We ordered 2 of each of the models I will cover below to test them and see which ones we liked. Then we ordered 46 more of the nightlights our families all preferred.This model MLN-11-02 we use in our stairway we have it shinning down on the steps. It works well for that purpose. Good if you don't want much light around the room or light hitting you in the face at night. Model MLN-10 LED nightlight is we would say the dimmest of the 5 models. It has a directional cover that you can spin around but we did not like this light. You can aim it down also. But through the vents in the top it has annoying beams of light that shine up. Model MLN-09 LED nightlight has a clear lens and is hard on the eyes at night. It lights the area pretty well. The MLN-11-01 is a basic night light that uses LED technology for low energy usage. It also has a light sensor, so it does not run during the day/when the lights are on. The nightlight has small blinds or louvers on it so you can direct the light or shade it to your desire. The overall design of the night light lends itself best to décor befitting a beach house, country cabin, nursery or a bathroom decorated in such a style.Pros: the light output is just right - neither too dim, nor too bright. The light from the device is well distributed behind the louvers - you wouldn't guess that two LEDs are the source of the light. Pros: the night light is relatively compact and inexpensive Cons: the night light covers a tad more than its half of a power outlet. The MLN-11 Night Light works fine. Its plenty bright, and the photo sensor works well to turn off the light in the daytime. However, the physical design is poor in that the nightlight partially blocks the electrical socket above so the night light has to be removed if you want to plug another item into the second socket if the second item has a grounded plug. I don't understand why they didn't design the light with the plug closer to the edge so that it doesn't block the other socket.Summary: If you don't mind that the outlet you plug this into can't be used for other items with grounded plugs then its fine. |
